Silicon Valley Association of Innovation & Outsourcing (SVAIO) will have the monthly event for April at 3:00-5:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 4988 Paseo Padre Parkway, 2nd floor, Fremont, CA. The focus of this forum is "Outsourcing to China". There will be two presentations covering the current outsourcing trend and opportunities in both IT and biotech in China.
Presentation 1: Overview of China Pharmaceutical CROs
Peng Zhang, PhD, Senior Scientist, NGM Biopharmaceutical Inc. Dr. Zhang works for NGM Biopharmaceutical Inc., a South San Francisco-based biotech company. He is now responsible for preclinical pharmacology and safety pharmacology. He has broad connection and collaboration with both US and China pharmaceutical CROs. Before joining NGM Biopharmaceuticals, he worked in Johnson and Johnson as a pharmacology scientist and in the University of California San Francisco as a surgical research fellow.
Presentation 2: Truth about China Outsourcing
Wutai Shi, SVP, USBU, hiSoft Wu Tai Shi, SVP, US Business Unit. Wu Tai Shi leads the research and development and IT services for the US business unit of hiSoft, responsible for growing the company’s business globally. A technology veteran, Wu Tai has spent 15 years in the field while specializing in software product development, quality assurance and business management. Prior to joining hiSoft in 2006, Wu Tai founded and served as vice president of Beijing Ensemble International, Ltd. He received a bachelor degree in Computer Science from Nanjing Aerospace and Aeronautics University in China.
